The FA I flew with this earlier today told me that an FA was attacked on a flight from CLT to BMA ? birmingham ? The flight returned to CLT and she is still hospitalized. Anyone have any other info? Was it PDT/Mesa/CCair ? Hope he/she is O.K.

As a side note she told me this as we were standing in line at security with a mainline crew in front of us. The 3 FA's turned around as they overherd us but when my FA said it was express and they promptly turned around and went back to loudly discussing the one FA's new post divorce purchase of a convertible mustang and opal/pearl ring. The Capt. and FO never even looked up. A$$holes.

it was a MESA FA. she (he?) was punched out by a pissed off passenger. Im not sure if she was knocked unconsious but here ya go.

I hope the guy(I assume it was a guy who did the punching) goes to the big house.

US Airways Flight Returns To Charlotte Due To Fight
Sep 4, 2002
A US Airways Express flight turned back to Charlotte on Tuesday after a passenger punched a flight attendant who spilled water in his lap. Robert Quarture, 32, was arrested when the plane returned to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. He was charged with attacking a flight attendant.

According to an FBI affidavit, Quarture punched the attendant in the stomach shortly after the plane bound for Birmingham, Alabama, took off Tuesday morning.

US Airways spokesman Dave Castelveter said 22 passengers were aboard the 50- seat regional jet, with a crew of two pilots and the lone flight attendant.

The male flight attendant was taken to the hospital as a precaution, then released.
