How senior is the CLT base for US Airways east, in general, but more specifically on the junior aircraft? Are all the 190's going to PHL or are they going to put some in CLT also? Thanks -kingaira90

CLT is the most senior US Airways domicile. With the movement of the 767 domestic flying to CLT from PHL in December, the most junior guy is December, 1999 a recently recalled pilot. That is somewhat artificial due to the movement of the entire domestic flying.

My personal opinion is we will see a CLT E190 base sometime in 2008. We will have 25 airplanes by October, 2008 and CLT is the most logical choice.

Bottom line, CLT is doable but most likely you would not get it right away.

Yes, I'd say there are quite a few J4J guys that are coming into the fold soon, whom will be looking to get back to CLT also, so might be a tad farther out....

Though if they put the 190's in CLT, it will be quick.......

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone know if with the upcoming hiring, will internal recs have any weight on getting the interview? The only recs area on the app just talked about your cp etc at recent/current jobs. Nothing specific about someone working for the company like on other applications.-kingaira90

The following CBS message was sent to all pilots on Tuesday,
September 18, 2007:

Last week we announced that over the next 15 months US Airways
plans to hire approximately 350 pilots. We are currently accepting
applications via the USAirways.com website and will begin interviews
in about two weeks. In order to select the best candidates, we are
soliciting the input of our current US Airways pilots. We value your
opinion particularly if you are able to speak to the flying abilities
or
character of the applicant.

If you would like to recommend an applicant, please present a letter
of recommendation to your respective Chief Pilot for processing.
We cannot require a letter of recommendation for an applicant nor
will
it
guarantee an interview; however, we will place value on it when
comparing
the attributes and qualifications of all the pilot applicants.

We think this is an exciting process and thank you for your help in
selecting the future generation of pilots for US Airways.
