Here's the first class that will have 5 of W/O pilots from Piedmont. Anyone else going to this class?? (No east-west bickering please.)

Also, I have heard that they will be based out west.

Thanks in advance.

if that's true, then a double congrats. At least they'll pick up a useful type rating and better pay.

Word is that we will be choosing between the 737 in PHX or the 320 in LAS........

Anyone have any commuting experience into either city pair?

It's gonna be interesting until I can get the Mrs brain washed into moving out west!

Can't wait to get off the east coast!

Too be honest I would rather go west. I do believe flying with most of the Westerners would be just a tad bit better then flying with most of the Easties.

Good Luck Guys!

You would think guys who had been stuck at PDT wouldve had enough of the USAir BS by now.

Both PHX & LAS run relatively smoothly (at least by northeast U.S. standards) except when the ocassional summer TRW drifts overhead. Even then you don't see the 4-hour recovery time like you do at PHL & NYC.

Loads are high between PHX-LAS but then you also have tons of Southwest flights to ride on.

If you commute to LAS from the east there are a bunch of late-night redeyes so you might get home the same night after a trip or reserve shift.

The reserve shifts @ LAS are either 1300-2300 or 1600-0100. Don't bother calling to get released, just use a little common sense and discretion.

Btw, anyone know how many are in this 3/17 class?

True, but it reminds of the old joke about the Guy that Worked on the Airplane Lavs.

He sat at a bar and chatted with the Bartender. Bartender says, how can you do that job? I mean, you work with sh$t all day. You make no money doing, and put up with tons of crap on a daily basis. Hell, you can find something making the same amount of money and putting up with less crap and have a happier life.

The Lav Guys looks at the bartender and says, "what!, and get out of aviation? Are you crazy!!!

Word is that it's pretty small.... something like 13 or so..... I'll let you know come Monday. Thanks for the information. BTW are crash pads harder to find in one place or the other? (PHX vs. LAS)
Thanks, Again!

I've had other offers, but it has to do more with timing and this being the right time to make a move... (a permanent move west maybe?)

So I am sure the other offers weren't American, Southwest, Delta, Continental, AirTran, Virgin America, JetBlue, NetJets did I miss more?........ lol (please insert sarcasim).

You gotta list the other offers. I needs to know man!!!

Good Luck out West! Are you gonna sell that nice Hilton Head Pad?? I got a really low offer for you. :-)

Keep us all update on life in the big leagues.

Any word on how long it would take to hold a slot in PHL?

Any former PDTers who end up in PHX and want to grab a drink, PM me. And walk my stuff in so I don't ever have to move again :)
