Did anybody have problems with updating their ratings, licenses, and hours on the USAirways I-Recruitment "Application Details" page? I cant get a straight answer or help from the IT desk at Airways to fix this.....Ive gotten a new type, an ATP and a buttload more hours than when I filled out the online app and cant update it. Anyone familiar with this problem?

I am only familiar enough to tell you that the program is all bollixed up. It is an improvement over the one they had last fall, too. Try to contact someone in HR/recruitment, if you can get a number/e-mail I guess.

Hey Tweaker,

How many PIedmont guys are in the class?

5, like last month. I hear PSA will begin attending in May. We have no special seniority, by the way. It is purely about how many rings are around your trunk.

So far I see 40, 36, 34, 33.5, 33, 32. My letter states that there will be opening on both sides.

Update

So far I see 40, 38, 36, 34, 33.5, 33.3, 33, 32 years old.

I was told 20 in class. A trainer told someone in the previous class there would be 15 East slots and 8 West.

Sorry = not to rain- but just wait until you meet a bunch of 45 year old's complaining about how they have 20+ years seniority that is being sold to the west. (ie: major airline pilots hired in their early-mid 20's)
They voted to sell your job to mesa while they got hired into their Fokker's at a young age... Just something to remember.

Congratulations to everyone making the jump to a legacy.

Probably a bit late in the thread for this but...welcome aboard. I still really enjoy my job even after 3+ years sitting on reserve. I have had exactly zero negative experiences face to face with east guys and gals. I am not thrilled with their post-list antics and I voted ALPA within 4 minutes of receiving my ballot but I think we will all get along soon enough. Enjoy training.

Tweaker,

Hatred is far too strong a word and dislike is not fitting either. I think his only draw back is commenting on subjects that he knows nothing about. No matter how he chooses to address it his statement was vile and uncalled for. Then to add insult to injury in very typical fashion he attempted to justify the action. I grew tired quick and figured that it is what it is and moved on.

I'm sure we will all meet one day.

Cheers

WD.

Geez Wiskey Driver and I thought we buried the hatchet already with a few pm's I was all set to buy the first pitcher....... remember I already offered an apology for things that got out of context and i thought you had accepted?

Lovely, can't wait to meet up with this guy:mad: !!!

On another note, I have got to call your brother today, he called me over a week ago and my MEC duties got in the way. If you talk to him tell him I'll call today.

4/14 class

Just wondering of the known that are in this class, does anyone want to be based west? Also, the latest vacancy bid for the east side for june or july bidding shows 22 new pilots starting on 4/14. If that is the case the whole class may go east. not sure though.

I don't think of any of the 5 PDT dudes want West. I don't know anything about the rest of the class. See you Mon.

There are actually 2 classes starting Monday.

There is a recall class in CLT of 47 returning J4J pilots and some returning from LOA for a total class size of about 55 pilots. All these pilots will be based on the East.

There will also be a new-hire class of "off-the-street" pilots whose indoc. class I believe will be in PHX. I have no idea wether these pilots will be based East or West...

I heard the PHX director of training tell our indoc class that some (not a large number) West positions would be offered to the new guys, I think it was giving returning J4J guys first choice on bases (including West) but don't hold me to it.

Good luck, hopefully most will be able to get what they want too.

There's 2 36's, myself and one other. Probably a bunch of 45 yr old's that don't post here as well.

The 36 yo I counted was someone saying "some girl" is in this class who is 36. If that ain't your friend, then it is like this...

40, 38, 36 x 3, 34, 33.5, 33.3, 33.2, 33, 32 years old.

Since I want East, I am glad to continue to hear that most of the slots will be East.

I would be surprised to see many new hires that are 45 years old. This based on who I saw during my interview in PHX, the total time of those here who admit to getting hired and what I have heard.
Of course, like you say, these "more distinguished gentlemens" may not be utilizing the "internets", so we just don't know about them. ;)

just out of curiosity does anyone care if a newhire is 33.2, 33.3, 33.4, or 33.5 years old? a general age breakdown is great but isn't that taking it a little too far? lol...

Not when your seniority is determined by age.

I agree it is a little silly, but based on the anxiety of more than one person I know in that class, appropriate.

I believe most openings will be where I want them, and I am going to be "mature" enough to get at 'em. Not the case for everyone.

Every PDT dude who started class was given a surprise "you work for AWA now!" This caused a great deal of personal crises for these people with infants, spouses with careers on RIGHT coast, etc.

Be glad you are not in this situation. Anyway, I can tell you that I doubt anyone who was recently parolled from PDT will regret going to US Airways.

My last day was today...Booyakasha! I will miss the Dash, most of my co-workers, and the fact that I made $183 an hour many times this year as a prop captain.:D

Just for the record we were never told that we work for AWA now. We were given a choice of two Western bases and we fall under the West contract. A contract which is much better in many cases right now. I know it is splitting hairs but your description "implies" things that are not really factual. Aside from that a big Congrats on your last day of hell at PDT Tweak!

I know that Capt. Z, I was not being serious about the AWA thing. But that is really a distinction without difference since the groups and contracts are AWA.

See you tonight. We must get our swerve on and come up with a new nickname for you, Capt!

I will dress like my avatar and invite you to my hotel room, mmkay?

No, I beg to differ, the groups and contracts are Usairways "WEST" not AWA. If you are going to make that distinction you might as well say everything is AWA, East and West because it is just the name Usairways that is being used.... The fact is that AWA aquired airways and used the airways name because it was understood better worldwide.

Regardless a "Ummmm no thanks" on the invite to your hotel room, my better half and the boys are still out here visiting, so I already have something warm and fuzzy to curl up with right now! For some reason I find her legs more attractive than your avatars picture too.:D
I'll look into changing my screen name to the proper "FO" title eventually I just want to achieve the "General Lee" status of 10k posts one day and don't want to loose credit for all my prior anguish on FI. Anybody know if I loose that changing screen names? I've got more important stuff to do right now than research that stuff. Enjoy indoc Tweak some of it was actually really interesting believe it or not. J,H,B & I are already at our crash pad about 15 minutes away from the CSI but we'll see you "newbies" during the next few days on campus.
Take care,
z

PS: There's enough bs going around about east vs west etc,etc........
I just don't want to instigate or throw more fuel on the rumor fire regarding that west new hires are all AWA now. (it was stressed in the interview that we are being hired as Usairways pilots and are not being hired to join a "side". In reading your post I felt a correction was needed because it gives the wrong impression and not all of us are unhappy about being based out west (1/3 of us love it)
I think the only thing that is going to help the overall pilot group right now is getting some diplomacy reestablished..........

FYI: J. found out from an instructor that there will be 8 737 West positions available here in PHX and 13 slots out East. That of course could change by morning.

New guys/gals: Welcome to the new US Airways. I hope your training experience and career here will be a positive experience!!

We'll see you around the block sometime.
