Hey All,
I was hoping to go CLT to FRA this month. What is the procedure? I searched the thread and found a bunch of Delta info, but nothing on US air. Any tips?
Thanks.

I've been denied a US Air jumpseat for not being listed 24 hours in advance.

Not sure if reservations can/will be able to list you. The station manager in VCE told me I had to call OCC to be listed which I have no idea what the number is. Walked next door to Delta and they got me right on.

call the non-rev line at 1 800 325 9999. Ask to be listed as a non-rev. Make sure you show at the airport at least 2 hours prior and go to the ticket counter. You must pay your INTL taxes at the ticket counter (you cannot do this at the gate). Tell them at the ticket counter you are jumseating and prior listed as a non-rev. When you get to the gate, remind the gate agent you are jumpseating and looking for a seat in the cabin. There is no cockpit jumpseat on INTL legs, so you are cabin only. If there is room in the cabin, the gate agent should assign you a seat. Check in with the Captain, show ID, license and medical, and you should be on your way. MAKE SURE you get a receipt for the outbound and RETURN leg taxes paid. You'll need that for the outbound return. Show for the return a minimum of 2 hours prior.

Anyone else at US want to add or correct me?

Return jumpseat

Hey MK-

How hard is it to jumpseat back into the country. I thought it was a lot tougher. Any recommendations. I've heard you have to be apart of the crew, etc. Am i wrong. thx

Great info! Here is a question I have about returning. I was hoping to jumpseat US air CLT/FRA on the way over and then Delta or United FRA/JFK for the return. Is that a problem?

Shouldn't be a problem, both Delta and United offer international jumpseat and I've used both out of FRA. One thing to point out - at FRA (as at many european airports) the ticket counter is in a separate location from the check-in counter. Make sure you're at the ticket counter to pay your tax. Also, it's inevitable that at foreign stations you run into agents who insist you can't jumpseat to the US...they often can't get past the word "jumpseat" to realize that you want to ride on jumpseat authority in the aircraft cabin. Just be persistent and ask them to run it past their supervisor if they have to...and if worse comes to worse, go try another airline.

Thanks Dash.
