Our president wants us to do it. Anyone done it? Let's hear your experiences.

UPSET TRAINING

Are you talking about jet upset as in unusual attitudes or as in handling p*ssed off passengers.
Unusual attitudes have alway been part of my sim training. I don't know of anyone doing it in the airplane.

Jet upset. Some places offer it in T-34's, and we're looking at doing it in an L-39. It's a day or two course dealing with all types of unusual attitudes practiced in an airplane.

Careful, you might exceed 30 degrees of bank. Try not to get airsick too. ;)

Hey now!

Disco,

so what are u saying ? Civ pilots cant fly acro? I know a few Civ only guys that can fly you and ALL you F-15 buddies under the table...... Tucker, Patty just to name a few and Leo was a AA Cpt...... They cant fight a like you can but they can fly just as well.....OH and those things on the floor of your jet those are RUDDER pedals.... :)

(dont get mad im just playing) Thanks for doing what you do.

A little sensitive...? No I'm not saying civ pilots can't fly acro. I'm saying Biz-pilots don’t get into unusual attitudes, and flying in a T-34, under that hot canopy, maybe be more than a lot of these guys have seen.

BTW, we use the rudder pedals in the Eagle.

Tell that to the Citation crew who plowed one in inverted after hitting an airliners wake on final.

Upset Recovery

I did the upset recovery training in the T-34 and recomend it to every pilot

Man what an eye opener! The unusual atitudes which are taught while in recurrent sims are a joke in my opinion.

More pilots should attend this training before the US goes domestic RVSM.

I agree, the upset training (unusual attitude) stuff we done at recurrent is a joke. All of 2 minutes is dedicated to this while up at 15,000 feet. It would be nice if training centers programmed real world upset situations (like at 1500ft on final) etc... into recurrents...

so long as it does not cut into steak time, BBQ time, Beer time, or nudey bar time....now thats what recurrent is about anyways right?:p
