FedEx and UPS will be attending AIR, Inc.'s Job Fair September 20 in Washington, D.C. at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center @ DCA. For details and registration information, click here or call 800 JET-JOBS (538-5627).

AIR, Inc. believes hiring is possible for both of the major cargo airlines as early as the first quarter of 2004. Attend the DCA airline forum and hear their future hiring plans straight from the airline representatives on Saturday, September 20, 2003.

I am not a big fan of AIR Inc but this sounds like it could be good news for us in the pool.

What a hoax. I called Air Inc and now they say that UPS is not coming to the DCA job fair. Sorry about the bad information, Air Inc really does suck.

shows

It does not cost these airlines one cent to go to an Air Inc seminar. Their attendance should never be taken as anything except that someone is going to be there to speak as to their hiring plans or lack thereof.

Yes it does cost airlines to go to these events. Food, hotel, car rental, and time of the employees. That is why no one shows up at the event unless they have a real reason to attend. To seek new employees.

Wrong

Most of the airline people travel free, Kit pays for most of the food and hotel, and, their companies are paying for car only if they do not want to wait for the free ride.

They go as much to meet and talk with other recruiters as they do with applicants. If you had been on this forum for long, you would know that I am pretty up on information regarding this subject.

Wrong

I have been to a Kit Darby funtion and the people I have spoken with had to pay for their food. I can't say about the hotel and yes I have been on this forum for a long time. I really don't care how long you have been on Flightinfo and I have read some of your work.

"Expertise
Over the years that I was involved in this, I came to realize the differences in these services."

With only 1500 hours where do you get off with your Expertise. Full of alot of hot air if you ask me.

Going back to my second post on the hoax. Is it not true that Air Inc knew that UPS was not going to attend the job fair before sending the email. I called them only minutes after reading the email about UPS which had posted while I was online. So they knew before they sent out the bad information. Lazy or trying to make money.

The second problem with Kit. July 2001 in the ATL job fair I had the chance to talk with Kit about UAL upgrade time. He was saying that it would only take five to six years for a new hire to upgrade. Do the math. Over 10000 pilots. The company would have to double in size or half of the pilots would have to retire in five to six years for this to occur. This was never going to happen and he was feeding this information to everyone.

If Kit would just be honest and have the job fairs that would be great. The job fairs do a great job of putting a face with a application. Would I go again? Yes, just don't listen to what Kit says. Listen to the airlines that show up and the will give you a honest answer.
