Anyone getting this?

We couldn't process this applicant because the form contained the following errors (denoted by the icon):

You did something you are not allowed to do; you have already submitted this item.

I submitted my info during the last window and have updated my resume/cv frequently. When I go to submit for the current window, ie today, I keep getting the error message. I guess I'm still in the system from the old window.

Anyone else?

CJ-

Yep...I got the same error message...I thought it was my long cover letter, but I pared that down and eventually deleted the whole thing and still got the error message. Anybody really smart know how to crack the code yet?

I got that response once (have had my resume in the system for the last 2 years), tried it again (with no cover letter) and it worked. You might want try adding the cover letter later after successfully submitting your resume.

Oh, the pilot employment hotline has no new information. The latest and greatest info is on this board! Good luck.

I got the same thing, even after going back in and editing my resume, the trying with a cover letter, without a cover letter, and even copying and pasting my resume in as if I didn't have one already... no dice - same error message.

Anyone have any ideas?

i haven't been on the site in years but....

it seems to me when i had trouble with the website updating or something. i think i had to use an email as the login. i believe to update my current info and resume i made and used another email address.

this may be info. that is completely wrong. just a thought as i was reading the previous posts.

I copied and pasted my resume and it looks like crap when done this way. I did it this way with the Alaska format as per their instructions and it was really bad. I forgot how to insert a file can someone help? Thanks

Singlespeed:

To format your resume, copy the file of your current resume into a newly created file. Remove all tabs and make it left justified. One piece of information per line, ie: line one is your name, line two is your street address, line three is your city/state/zip, line four is your phone number, etc. Cut and paste it into the online application.

It will not look like the nice, pretty resume format you're accustomed to, but that's the way it goes in these computer forms! The nice thing is that you're no longer limited to a one page resume. You can add a few more bragging points you previously edited in your efforts to conserve paper.

Good luck.

UPSFO and others on the inside,

As others have mentioned, this is and has been an ongoing problem with the UPS online application format. I, as have others evidently, have an ongoing battle trying to simply submit a resume. It doesn't matter what format I use, how and what I try to submit, either with or without a cover letter. I get the error message that says I have done something wrong. Then when I try to correct it, I get another error message that says I cannot submit to this job becuase I have previously submitted.

So, I have no way of knowing if my application has been received. It tells me they can't accept it due to errors, then they can't accept it because I have already submitted. Brilliant.

Fortunately, I do have several inside contacts, one in management, that I can hopefully get to check to see if my stuff is actually in the system. If they can't find out, then I guess I along with many others, it looks like, am SOL.

fargindooshbahg....

After you submit your resume to the job offered you will get an e-mail thanking you for applying. Did you get that? if not it probably did not go through. Just to make it clear... It is one thing to put in your resume and cover letter and another is to submit it to a job posting. You need to look for the job opening in "Air Operations" and look for First Officer. To this job posting you will "Submit" your resume and cover letter. You could update your resume and cover letter all you want but until you submit it to a job it will not be considered. I just wanted to make that clear. Good luck...

Swerpipe,

(I used to fly one of those, too BTW.) Thanks for the info. No, I have never received an email. I have submited to the Flight Officer job posting numerous times over the last several years, when it was open before and now when it opened again. It seems it definitely went through in the past, although every time I try to update, I get the "you cannont submit to this job posting because you have already applied" message. I don't really know what I am doing wrong. I think I will take someone else's advice above, and start fresh with a new email address and create a new online profile, then go from there. This is the one company I desire above all others, and I will not give up. I have been pursuing UPS since 1996 and will keep on keeping on. I do appreciate you taking the time to address my concerns. Hopefully I can crack the code. And as I mentioned, I have two very good inside recommendations. One is a current Captain and one is in Flight Ops Management. Hopefully, by this time next year I can be on the inside looking out, finally.

Thanks again.

Well...SUCCESS!! I went back to the website and it appears they have updated the job posting effective today. I simply resubmitted my profile, resume and cover letter without creating a new one, and it took it. I also received the confirmation email. So, all seems well. Also, FWIW, I disabled all my firewalls and anti-virus protections, just in case.

At any rate, I can be confident now that at least my application has been submitted. Thanks again for everyone's help.
