UPS has announced that it has opened cockpit jumpseats to Alaska Airlines crews. They have completed the necessary CASS paperwork.

Welcome aboard

And the same to you. We are online with the CASS as of 9/1. Happy jumpseats.

The latest we at QX have is that all of the initial participants in the CASS program

Alaska
Horizon
AMR
UPS

are all allowed in eachothers jumpseats as of 09/01/04 for an initial "trial period". Required to carry your Passport when jumpseating to use the cockpit jumpseat.

What will be somewhat interesting is to see how long it takes for this information to be disseminated to the gates/outstations... A gate agent the other day had no idea what CASS was, and said if American tried jumpseating she wouldn't let them. For that matter, QX has had a jumpseat agreement with F9 for what, more than six months now? and some of the outstations still don't recognize it.
