Why would a turn line be so junior? You would think that people would like to be home everyday?

They can be more work than they are worth.

For example, you leave your home at 1300 to make your 1400 show for your 1500 departure to someplace like EWR. When you get back to SDF, it is around 2300 or 2400. Get home at 0100. Sleep, wake up, putt around and leave the house again at 1300 for the same thing.

It's worse on the night side. One of the turns that I disliked the most was doing an early morning ONT turn out of SDF. Flight left in the middle of the night and blocked back in just before noon. Ouch!!

Given the choice, I would rather leave for a week, fly my trip, and then come home for a week. Especially with gas at $2.70/gal, I would much rather make the trek to the airport 3 times a month instead of 3 times a week.
