I'd go ahead and apply when the window opens again. While flying in class 2 airspace is their goal, you guys fly out over "international water" all the time. The navigation isn't as critical as the communication is. If you've done WestPac, you know the problem of "what did he say?" and "please repeat."
Royer, over.
BTW. Nice one, Mega!

Like so many other things UPS does... the pilot HR dept. is shameful. Phil Donahue (head of pilot HR) enacts a new policy requiring "transoceanic experience" and then COMPLETELY FAILS to explain its rationale....
BBB

I would say this answers it well...

The requirement is presently in place to fill the ANC MD-11 and B747-400 slots with experienced FO's to fly with the more junior captains who may not have flown internationally before. Flying overseas isn't rocket science, but it sure does help to have someone in the cockpit with some experience

COMPLETELY FAILS to explain its rationale, COMPLETELY FAILS to explain the application form, COMPLETELY FAILS to explain the pilot applicant's inability to update the application once submitted, and finally COMPLETELY FAILS to warn anyone of an application window deadline....and no one has held him accountable (should be canned!). ...
So since Mr. D COMPLETELY FAILED to hire me after my interview, then when he gets canned, maybe I have another shot??? :D Everyone else I met along the way said I'd fit right in :crying: (and I met a lot of great people - thanks everyone!). Wish they did the interviewing! In the immortal words of Bugs Bunny: always a brides maid, but never a bride...

If they have a problem with the college graduates making position reports, they should look into a new concept called, training.
