Looks like an interesting job.

I wonder......how are these 'Off the street' pilots viewed by the guys on the seniority list. These guys would get hired directly into the left seat and become LCAs and Check Airman within a year.

I figure that would chap some hides.

Also, what if the contract negotiations get sour and the Mgt Pilots have to fly the line....would the be branded?

Can any current UPS line pilots shed some light before I apply?

Thanks

How are at best 30-40 management pilots going to cover the entire UPS schedule? Needless to say, if UPS pilots strike, the place will be shutdown.

mangement pilots don't have seniority # and it doesn't matter wether they fly during strike or not they always viewed one way by the pilot group, and if u still wondering what i meant u can relay to my avatar to get a clea picture of mgmt all together, whether they are pilot or not. Remember by going mgmt u have put 2 most valuable things for sell 1- your soul 2-your integrity.
good luck.

All I know is that if you take a management pilot position, you will be OWNED by brown. You may be asked to move anywhere UPS wants, that includes Europe. Most likely you will be in the Ville working long days and nights. You could possibly work a 12 hour day in the office then get called to fly a trip in the middle of the night. Saying you are too tired is not an option. They literally own you at UPS. If that is the life you want, go for it.

U-I pilot said:
sheesh....tell us how you really feel brownie

That's pretty much how every UPS pilot feels that I have come across, not just brownie.

I'll take that position. Don't ask what Brown can do for you, but what you can do for Brown! I'll take Rockford for a base. Hook me up.

UPS tries to "promote" line pilots to mgt every day...... there are very few takers..... I wonder why?

Mgt pilots have already crossed the picket lines of the Teamsters so that answers that question. The mgt pilots are imo a non union labor force to leverage against the union pilots and drivers.

Quiet chuckles are often heard when a mgt pilot offers suggestions during line checks as the credibility factor generally runs very low. One would be asked/demanded to attempt to intimidate pilots ie impromptu line checks if the Captain makes say a decision concerning jumpseat riders.

These of course are my opinions only.
