Just curious if anyone at UPS can comment if progress is being made towards a new pilot contract ?? I believe the current contract ends in December?

Do you think something will be agreed upon soon or is it going to get ugly and drag out a while? How much of a chance is there of a strike? Will you keep one pay scale or are you trying for aircraft specfic pay?

Hopefully you will unite and get a very deserving contract for the industry to build on. Thanks in advance for any info on the subject.

Best of luck.

My opinion...

We currently are undergoing an election for a new union president. One of the canidates is the head of the negotiating committe for the very important scheduling article. Because of the distractions of the campaign, it was agreed with the company to halt contract talks for a few months. This will delay us getting a contract. On top of that, a good contract is still a year away and a bad contract will be voted down by the membership.

Let's just say things aren't rosy within the union right now, with a possible major change in union leadership and direction. I think our unity is at am all time low....and unity is what will get us the contract we deserve.

I know the fedex guys are looking to us for a great contract they can use to pressure their management with....to raise the bar. I honestly think it's gonna take a while.
