UPS April window responses

Has anyone been given the psych eval/online assessment since completing their application when the April window opened ... any contact from UPS? (Not referring to those of you who applied in January) Does anyone REALLY know what "active" means?

I applied on April 11th and have not heard anything. I spoke to a friend this morning who flies the 747 for Japan and he said there were 2 guys at JAL who just applied in this window and they have been contacted for interviews. I asked him to make sure they hadn't applied in the last window and he said he would check it out and get back to me.

OK so he got the story a little mixed up. The 2 guys he was talking about had interviewed on Apr 17th and just got job offers. They had both applied in the previous window. He says he knows of one guy for sure that applied April 12th and has been sent the online assessment. He has not heard anything about an interview date.

I found a book at Borders yesterday called "Big Brown, the untold story of UPS". Its pretty interesting reading and theres a good chapter about why the rift between Management and the Pilots.

I completed the online app last week and just received the online assessment via email today. Whats this about and does it mean I am close to a call for an interview.

Unless they changed the way they do things since the Jan. 2007 window (which wouldn't surprise me), I would say this:

When you take the assessment, it tells you right away if you passed or not. If you passed (which I heard most people do), you are in the pool of people that will be called for an interview. Supposedly, people are pulled out of that pool randomly but I would say you have a really good chance of an interview at that point. I had 4 friends in that "pool" and they have all been called for interviews (2 didn't get the job, 2 did - one is in the May 16 class and the other waiting for class). These guys all got their application in during the Jan. 2007 window. Good luck and keep us posted!

What percentage of interviewees are successful at UPS? I'm hearing that if you pass the online assessments then you will get called for an interview. I wonder what the chances are that you will be put in the hiring pool from there?

PD was quoted to have said that to get 300 successful new hires they would have to interview 900. One out of three for those like me slow in math!

I took the on line assessment in March and all I received was an e mail requesting an updated resume. Any ideas?
