Anyone know what UPS is looking for on the Resume/CV page on their website? I spent hours updating a resume and cut and pasted it in and it was a jumbled mess. Just make it look right? I used the format from Air Inc, is that standard? And what is CV?

Viperdriver,

Hi, it's been 4 years since I applied, but I will try to answer your question the best I can.

First, for the resume portion, I typed a resume there that was similar in format and structure to one that I would have printed out on paper and sent to someone. Just a basic format listing education, work experience, qualifications, etc. Nothing too fancy, and it seemed to be acceptable. I didn't cut or paste anything, just typed the resume right there in the space provided.

As far as what's standard, it's hard to say. I looked at several formats I found in an interview book, and took a little bit from each one. The only thing I made sure of, was to make it short, sweet, and right to the point. If it were to be printed, it would have been no longer than one page.

What is CV? I have no idea. I just went to the website and couldn't figure it out. It's the first I've seen of it. From what I could tell, that is something I wouldn't even worry about. I would just put a resume in there.

Hope this helps,

- Clyde.

PM me if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them for you the best I can.

CV - 'ciriculum vitae' (latin). Outside the US most people refer to their resume as their 'CV'.

In the U.S. CV (Curriculum Vitae) refers to a specific style of resume used in academia. As mullet said, elsewhere it generally refers to any type of resume. Of course I thought mullet gave a pretty good answer for a guy who hangs at Waffle House.:)

Once you type your resume in the little box so that it looks nice, copy and paste it to a word doc for your own records. that way when you update your resume 2 weeks later or when ever you decide to update it, all you have to do is change your word doc and copy and paste it and then apply it to the little box. Well thats what I did... Worked for me. Seems crazy, but I always updated every two weeks, He11, I didnt know how ofter they checked it...
