You are assigned a FO spot based on need. I have seen 3000 hr guys go to the G200 while retired airline guys end up in the ultra ..... all because they were hired at different times for different classes.

As a newhire I wouldn't expect to see the 2000EX anytime soon. Those are class 4 aircraft that come with their own payscale (same as the GIVs and GVs), and I think some of our current FOs will end up bidding on to them. Just my .02.

Just for some clarification I believe that there are only 2 EX's currently and the rest are straight 2000's. Could be wrong its not my fleet but that was my understanding. I believe that the current count stands at 32 2000's and 2 EX's. Higher pay is only for the EX and it is most likely not reasonable to expect that particular aircraft as an new FO as it would have to go out for bid to current pilots first and I bet someone would bid it for the raise.

New hires won't go to the EX. All FO positions are first posted internally, and if they are not filled, then they hire from outside. Since the EX pays more than everything else except the BBJ, EX FO postings will get snatched up internally by FO's who realize they won't make captain within the next 2 years.
