Sweet looking bird....not to thread drift but why can't the Russians design an airplane that doesn't look like crap?

It IS designed with winglets. The 787-300 has winglets. (http://www.newairplane.com/787/en-US/innovativeFeatures/Performance)

The -800 & -900 have the raked wingtips. Different wings for different missions.

Really?? Then why do most new clean sheet designed business aircraft have winglets?

probably to save space, raked wingtips are longer I think. Also I am not sure how short field takeoffs would be affected by raked wings compared to winglets on the wingtips.

no way, the IL-76, AN-224 and 125 (Ukrainian but close enough), so does the TU-154 and especially the new 204
