How long would it take a United new-hire to be awarded DEN as a base? I know this question was asked on this forum recently, but there was little information other than it will take a little while. I am just curious about the approximate length of time it will take assuming one was assigned to the 73 or 320. Is this a matter of more than a year?

Thank you
UAL soon to be

Could be right away now. On the bid that just closed there were 10 320 F/O slots that went unfilled and those could be offered to new hires so basically that means there is no one too junior in the company with seniority that can't hold 320 f/o in DEN now. Big change from how it was 6 months ago. I think we had unfilled bids for the 320 in every domicile except JFK. If you didn't get what you want right off the bat it wouldn't take long to get there.
