Heard this started out as a group of 50 (or so) aircraft. However after vetting out the bad maintenance and poor records it dwindled to half. Still a very good thing.

Excerpt from the article:
Integral to the plan is removing 50-seat jets flown by United's regional contractors, which can waste more fuel per passenger than larger planes. The carrier said it will take 130 of these aircraft off its schedule by the end of 2015, with more cuts to come later.

Music to my ears

sCAL pilots would have enjoyed this obsoletedness much more with a 50 seat scope clause...

I've been happy with them. Everyone thinks they are smarter or their advisor is smarter. They are all the same just like the big three carriers.

Instead of airplanes, UAL should be buying some microphone filters for the microphones the pilots use. No other airline has such awful background noise in their transmissions......actually hurts your ears.

Just wait until everything is CPDLC/FANS, we'll have no one to make fun of anymore... except for folks calling in-range or ramp controllers on guard.

You buy me a new headset, I'll use it. Just for you.
