I heard on the van last night that SWA is in talks with United for 24 gates at DEN. United is rumored to have approached SWA with a codeshare plan out of SFO and IAD for international in excange for gates at DEN.

Apparently, United believes that they may have to park 100 domestic aircraft because they have 30 to 45 days of cash. They need SWA feed to keep their international (money making) operation alive and believe that SWA may be interested if they can get gates at DEN in exchange.

Interesting.

I doubt with over 5 billion in cash that the 30 to 45 days is wrong, but who know their business plan called for $50/brl of oil. Plus what does the Scope Clause state for code shares in their contrat? I would think this is false.

I don't think you will ever see it happen.

SWA wants to have total control, or near total, with it's codeshare partner. I don't think that UAL is willing to give that kind of control to SWA.

IMHO

With the option of parking a 100 planes and limited days of cash, I think they might be a little more open-minded than before.

"Even a stopped clock is right twice a day...
Bill, So far you've predicted SWA buying Frontier, AWA, Alaska, WestJet, Airtran, DAL's assets, and a UAL/CAL merger.

Don't quit your day job."

Just like his name sake Bill has been smokin' a few too many sweat socks.

How did you come up with 30 to 45 days of cash? If UAL was losing 10 mil a day they would be good for a year with a billion or so to spare. Their costs are inline with the other legacies. If times are that hard for them we are all in for a tough time.

The Pig.

Don't believe everything you hear.

Some pilots are just so friggin STUPID

SWA is interested in feed from UAL?

More like cleaning the plate after taking all their dinner, if given the chance.

Interesting.

What are they going to do, bus them to IAD from BWI?
