You do realize CAL posted a 4th quarter profit, right?

That is a real suprise considering the contract situation.

Ok, I'm a little fuzzy on that line of thinking.

Are there actually people out there that believe that?

Do you ever notice that after a mgmt team shrinks an airline in an effort to return to profitability the best news we come to see is "Losses slightly less than were anticipated". Hurray!!

I hope you are right. It doesn't seem like much of a conspiracy given the prior attempt to merge, and how cozy we seem to be with UAL today under the auspices of Star Alliance.

"Consideration" was given to merging but not an attempt to. And we got equally cozy with DAL and NWA when we initially joined the "auspices" of SkyTeam. Consolidating gates/lounges, coordinating schedules, sharing codes on flights, interchangeable FF award programs, etc, etc, etc.

Of course, we DID almost merge with DAL back in the day. And "labor" got in the way.

Yup gotta laugh at the insanity - at the same time saving up for the "self help".

Hold on to that scope (for Alliances AND 50 seat) and it will provide a better future for both of us ........

The SLI will hurt me either way so as long as Tilton and Co. are gone I am good with that. Just no CLE base ok ?!
