I hope there isn't a thread on this already but...

Just saw the movie and I have to say...it was INTENSE.

Considering how badly Hollywood portrays aviation I am almost shocked at how close they came to getting it right.

My pulse was about 180 and I am sure my blood pressure was in hypertension range the whole time.

I am not sure if I should recommend it to others though. It was so intense (on many levels) that it defies description...

A powerful film to say the least... Wow.

my wife wants me to go see it with her and I was wondering what for. It's been hashed and hashed on every tv channel.

Maybe now i'll go see it.

It is worth seeing... But I am not sure about taking my wife. Mine couldn't come and I was upset at the time...but now I am thankful she missed it.

I almost had a heart attack... You know the story, you know how it ends, but you are stupidly pulling for the passengers to break that f'ing door down and kill those b'stards...

*sigh*

I cried at the end for a brief moment.

I have never heard a more deafening silence in a theater EVER...

My wife is the one that wants to go see it.

Of course she drives around heavier metal than me. :)

Now you have me really intrigued. Will have to go check it out.

I saw it and it was quite detailed... bigger question, How packed was the theater? I was dissapointed at the crowd for my showing! The demographics were as I fig they would be.... no one under 30 either. you could have heard a pin drop..... no cell phones ringing, no kicking of seats, no chatter at all..... a few gasp but they were spontaneous and quite called for.

I have heard that 10% was to goto the memorial... but I have a feeling the $$ will be less than desserved.... hoping my showing was in the minority.

I don't think either of you will be disappointed. It hits way too close to home, though. It is tough to watch.

Let us know what you think when you've seen it.

I am still a little raw...

Our theater was pretty packed and there were a lot of teeny boppers in there. The teenage chick next to me was crying her eyes out, so I am glad to see the impact as it should be.

Ditto on the phones and gasps. I didn't hear a SINGLE phone ring and that is a first.

Sorry. Too close to home. Still remember calling my friends at UA and AA to see if they were ok. Call me a wuss...TC

The movie is truly intense. It will bring out the anger, pride and patriotism that people felt on 9/11.

It is an excellent movie.

I plan on seeing it soon. The soon-to-be-wife has said she doesn't want anything to do with this movie. Considering the reaction I had after seeing the full trailer on iTunes, I can't NOT see this movie. Seeing the crew get an ACARS message moments before the hijacking sent chills through my spine...

It reminds me in a roundabout way of Passion of the Christ. Highly polarizing, protested & lauded, and one of those movies that you decide to go see not to be entertained but to see a deeply personal story from a different perspective.

I don't know why my posts keep doubling up on here. Time for a reset.

Can any of the mods delete my double taps plese? Sorry everyone. Please ignore.

Ditto....my wife was on board to see it with me until she started seeing tv specials (Larry King, etc.) on the film. She thought it would be to sad for her to watch. Anyways, I'm seeing it tonight with a furloughed Mesaba buddy.

My sentiments too TC. I was working for the darkside on 9/11 and watched the whole affair alone in a crashpad. I don't think I can handle watching the cockpit being seized. Bravo to the producers for making the film but I won't be seeing it.

Well, my wife went to see it last night--without me.

I didn't realize they had gotten the ACARS message BEFORE the hijacking. Now, I'm really pissed. Oh well, hindsight...TC

Yeah that ACARS message threw me for a loop. I am still trying to figure out why they opened the door. Somehow I am unable to revert to my pre-9/11 mindset where that is concerned. I do know we were far more non-challant with the cockpit door then.

I still remember the first four-day trip after we started flying again. Captain had the crash axe out and kept checking on the F/A every ten minutes in flight... Full planes the first two days then total ghost town from then on...

Crazy.
