This really has nothing to do with aviation, but it does kind of relate since most of you are union in one form or another.
Take this into consideration next time you talk about how much unions are needed and help out the people who pay their dues...
It was heard the other day that a union (i can't remember which one, but non-aviation) was looking to build a new either headquarters or meeting hall, but they were short on funds to fully achieve their dream building. So they began to look for ways to cut costs and here is what they came up with to achieve their dream.... THEY HIRED ONLY NON-UNION WORKERS TO SUPPLY AND BUILD THIER NEW BUILDING!, this way they would not have to pay the high rates that their own union members demand. Kind of a bass-akwards view from the union with trying to cut costs by hiring these non-union guys when their sole purpose is to help union guys achieve higher salaries and keep them employed. Seems to me they have lost sight of what that money is for every month when they collect those dues. Just something to contemplate for you union guys and gals... maybe sometime in your future this could be a problem for you.
