Which airlines are paying for your first uniform? I know some are paying, and some are making you pay over $400 for your first uniforms. Not as if most regionals first year pay isn't low enough. but now you have to buy your uniform. A list please,

Thanks,:)

ASA deducts from your paycheck over the first yr or 2. 400 or 500 bucks sounds right depending on what you buy. Depends on the airline but some stuff you can get cheaper than from the suppliers the company sends you to.

Uniforms are paid for by the company at NetJets, you get $400. a year to buy new items. Starting salary is $46,286. base pay. If you upgrade during your third year your base salary will be $84,560., and $95,687. year 4, year 5 $106,813. base pay, and $125,000. year 10.

Holiday pay is an extra $321. for a first year pilot, and $900. for a 10 year pilot. Nice 401K too.

    • [*]1st year First Officer-guaranteed base wage:

Not that it matters anymore:

Mesaba paid half of the $500 for the uniforms. The pilot paid $250. It is taken out of your check at $25 every 2 weeks. After that, the company gives you a check for $150 every December for replacements. Not that bad of a deal.

Is that on any a/c? Does it exclude the BBJ an GIV GV?

Are you basing your application decisions off of which company will pay for your uniform?

Interviewer: "Why do you want to work for company xxx?"

You: "Because I don't have to pay for my uniform!!"

Good luck with that.

Not really, just wondering.... just taking a pole.;)

ExpressJet gives you $150 per year to keep the monkey suit lookin fresh. In other words, you'd better not show up to work with pit stains on your shirt, shiny pants, or worn out shoes with yellow stitching.

The cost of the initial uniform items are deducted from your paycheck on very easy terms (I don't recall the amount). You can get by for as little as $200 initially or you can go all out with the blazer, leather jacket, rain coat, three pair of slacks, sweaters, and five shirts but it'll cost you more than you can probably afford.

P.S. If you shell out the $40 bucks for a hat, you're a tool.

Which implies the hat is optional. Sweet Jesus what I would give for having a hat optional (which effectively means -- no hat) policy.

Some of us don't have that option.

But I guess we are all tools for wanting an airline job anyway.

Here is some advice: Don't be dumb.

agree. There is nothing wrong with trying to look professional.

9E pays for half the uniform. (initial order). they pull 15 dollars a check til its paid off. And you also get 20 bucks a month for "dry cleaning".
