What you saw was a G-II Tip Tank... They only made a few, and the other poster was correct, the added drag and weight practically negated the additional fuel...

Why not just jettison them when they are empty? It worked for us in the F-111.

I am sure someone will make it fit. I have heard of even wackier conversions.

YUP, they are GII-B's

There are just a few, you see the increase drag and weight made the extra fuel completly useless. It is a breakeven deal, same range.....

some good after-market engineering there...

I believe rolling stone used to keep one out on Long Island.

Nope, they're not...

They are "G-II Tip Tank" versions...

a G-IIB is a G-II with a G-III wing on it (i.e. winglets)

Actually both the G-IIB and G-III have winglets by Gulfstream, the G-IIsp has the Aviation Partners winglets...
