IAC President and 2007 Unlimited Aerobatic Champion Vicki Cruse was killed in an accident at the 2009 World Aerobatics Championships at Silverstone, UK.

I don't perform aerobatics, but I was watching the results online, and this was a punch to the gut . . .

Hate to hear about it I talked to her a few times when she was out at APV.

I have heard she was not flying "her" Edge 540, but rather a "loaner". Some press have reported talk of a mechanical failure, and my first thought was the possibilty was the plane might not have been assembled properly following it's shipment to England. If the plane was England based, this might not have been the case.

It saddens me to see another Edge go down with a good pilot.
