Anyone know the details of how shares of post-BK UAL will be handed out? As a furloughed dude, I was told by a current pilot that I would be getting 300 shares. True? Also, what rules are in place for selling these shares?

Contact the MEC furlough coordinator for infomration. The share distribution infromation has been sent to all pilots on the ALPA email system. If you are not in the loop I would suggest you contact them immediately to find out the information. Also make sure you get on the mailing list. I do not suggest this forum as the basis for the best information in regards to actaul figures.

Based on the information given by one of ORD's ALPA reps, I calculated it at around 320 shares. I've also seen where someone said 480 shares, so we'll just have to wait and see what shows up in our IBA accounts.

Thanks! When I jumped ship to AWA, I stopped getting all UAL MEC info via e-mail. It seems that ALPA can only handle one airline at a time for us.

Shares

You only get shares if you were recalled back to United. If you bypassed you get nothing. If you accepted, but were not back in a class before yesterday you would get shares.

"If you were furloughed and recalled prior to exit, your allocation will be prorated for the portion of the contract when you are an active pilot. If you are furloughed and not recalled, you will receive approximately 480 shares. This comes from the 4.3% carve-out of all pilot shares the MEC established in 2004 for furloughed pilots."

You're mixing the stock with UAL stock with the bond. You have to have received a recall notice to be eligible for the bond.
All furloughees get the stock.
UALjan25 and any other UAL furloughee, there is the halfwingers board (invite only for UAL furloughees only) that these issues are covered on, along with trying to get a bond among furloughees to address our issues through the MEC when we return. It's a place that I'd prefer we post our more blunt points of view than Boyles.
If interested, any furloughee can send me their name, File number, and e-mail address, and I will have an invite to the board sent to them.

Back to the original stuff. You should have a Schwab IBA account automatically set up for you for the stock. I checked mine and it hasn't shown up yet. The phone number I called to get my username/password set up was 888-393-7272.

The stock, at the time of this post, was trading at $36.06/sh

I understand. You might want to call the MEC office directly and ask to speak to someone there. The number is 847-292-1700. Good Luck.

UAUA closed at 35.89 on volume of 3,682,241.
That's pretty large volume when one considers that there was no public offering; only creditors selling their proceeds.
