CAL side only is hiring so no SFO option. SLI supposed to be done by Labor Day, but fully expect further delays. New hire might be able to hold LAX in future months, but doubt it due to UAL furloughees seeking West Coast. Does GUM count as west of Denver?

You should be able to get SFO or LAX within a year of hire. Both were junior bases when LUAL was hiring. The LUAL side is recalling but will probably start hiring this summer.
Denver will be tougher to get. Forget about SEA; that's uber senior.

Arbitration starts on 15 April and Post Hearing Briefs are due by July 25. SLI should be complete prior to Labor Day.

Here's the arbitration information:
The two Merger Committees have completed their 100 days of negotiations with no results. They will begin arbitration proceedings on April 15. That initial week of arbitration will include opening statements by both United and Continental Merger Committee counsels. The CAL Merger Committee will then begin presentations of their entire "direct" case. The arbitrations are scheduled on the following dates:

April 15-20
May 11-15
Jun 11-13
Jun 18-20
Jun 27-28

The United Merger Committee will begin its direct case May 11. Post Hearing Briefs are due by July 25. The arbitration will be in Washington D.C., and we will keep you updated on the specific location as the proceedings are public.

Just curious how long before someone could get based in SFO. Or anywhere from Denver west.

Good question...and unfortunately in the current state you can't get based there. From multiple valid sources the last l-CAL bid with all the growth was also planned to initiate an l-CAL SFO 73 base and an l-CAL LAX 756 base. Both didn't happen for reasons beyond the scope of this thread. If l-UAL does hire at some point within the year then perhaps you could get based there...as mentioned in an earlier post. A lot of people have been confused - the l-CAL side is hiring, the l-UAL side isn't. Not saying you don't understand, but there has been a lot of confusion. Therefore l-CAL bases are the only ones in play out of training.
