Just curious if any one else received an e-mail from Human Resources at UAL asking for pilot times. I filled out the application in July and know that I already submitted flight times. What does this mean if anything?

The same thing happened to me a couple months ago. When I went to start the resubmission process I got a msg stating I'd already done it. I think it may be a glitch of some sort. I received the initial personality test email last week and am still waiting on the results of that.

Thanks for the response. I submitted the original application on the 18th of July and see that the pilot time instructions were updated on the 25th of July. On this latest submission I did not get a msg indicating I had already completed the pilot times and it appeared to go through no problem. There were a couple of questions that were different from my original application however. We'll see what happens next.

Cheers

I have been told that if there is a disparity between one system and the other, they will catch it when looking at your app prior to making the HR phone call, and send you an email that tells you to "update your times".

This usually means that one or two of your columns aren't adding up right between the two systems.

The instructions actually say keep one window open and cross-check your entries.

Once I did this, I got the phone call within 72 hours from HR going over my application. Didn't make it past that step, got the "thanks but no thanks" email last week.

When I went through the hiring process, I was told that the database was entering an extra field in the flight hours of one of the tables and that they were having to have applicants resubmit to help clear that.

Makes sense but I would have figured that they had cleared that up by now.

UAL Application Saga

I also got the flight time questionnaire again recently after having applied in July. How incredibly frustrating this whole process is.

I got the invite to do the psych test about a month after doing the flight time update questionaire. I took the psych test and came up screwy. They sent me a "thanks but we would rather hire mentally stable pilots" :(email . Oh well.

Good luck to the rest of ya.

Don't worry bro I got the same thing.

It is confusing in some of the questions because in the instructions it says if you are on the fence about an answer then think if it pertains to a majority of the time you feel that way. But, the questions contain quantifiers such as sometime or at times. So sometime of the majority of times?

7000hr bus rated pilot former employee with a 4 year degree taken down by a 100 T/F questions test that had nothing to do with aviation.

Good thing I got hired elsewhere.

Any of you folks that received this flight times e-mail in Nov. got the HR call or psych test e-mail yet. Just curious as I haven't heard a thing since I resubmitted my times and by the sounds of it there will be considerable hiring in early '08.

How long after the Psych test did it take to get the email? I just did the thing yesterday and wondering how crazy I am.

Actually, I got a phone call, not an email. Took about a week.

An HR girl called me to go over my application and a couple of "hiccups" including a LOI I got from the Feds back in '96 (it was dropped, no certificate action) and my recent experiences with airTran.

She was very nice, said I would either receive a "continue and schedule your interview" email or a "thanks but no thanks" email. I got the latter about 8 or 9 days later.

Can't imagine applying in another year after they've hired 600-800 people above you unless the economy drastically improves. With the way the legacies tend to hire right up until they furlough, it would be very uncomfortable not to get in on the first year or two of hiring at any legacy...

Good luck to all of you!

Just about everywhere I've ever worked hires until they furlough or "lay off". At least with the furlough you get a choice to come back. Its not just a legacy thing.

I just got the email wanting me to call them. I filled out the psych test yesterday. What can I expect from the phone call? Interview questions, logbook info? Or maybe they will just tell me I'm crazy?
