Can any UAL guys/gals explain what happened with this? Is the operation up and running? Are they planning to expand? Or was the whole thing shut down/never started? Thanks.

I saw the Aer Lingus A330 sitting in MAD a couple of days ago getting ready to head to IAD. Last I heard it was being flown by Aer Lingus cockpit crews and outsourced (as in not UAL or AL) flight attendants.

I am hoping any joint contract between CAL/UAL pilots and the company will immediatley shut this operation down. There were some rumors on another board that this alter ego carrier is poised for some major expansion. I don't hear either MECs or pilot groups talking much about this. Most of the discussion on scope has focused on 70 seats. IMHO, an alter ego carrier flying wide body international trips should cause both pilot groups great concern. Are we going to put a stop to this????? It is now or never for the CAL/UAL group.

Grievance filed. Will be addressed with next contract. Certainly a strike issue. It's up and running with Aer Lingus pilots and metal, with the intention of replacing the Aer Lingus pilots with outsourced pilots in the future.
