On the UA application page it says that "You will be required to record flight time in two different locations. You may wish to print this sheet out and use it as a worksheet before starting the application."
You will put numbers in your application online. At the end of the application is a link to do an assessment that has multiple choice answers. The answers are ranges of hours that you click to show where you fit (eg, you have 3000 hours of TT, you would click that you fit in between 2800-3400 hours).
The app asks for precise numbers. The link asks for what range you fall in. Just remember what numbers you put in the app. It isn't as tricky as I just made it sound.
