If jet Blue gets those E190's on line in the near future in the northeast, Airways will be doomed. No Sh#%, no flamebate.

At what point did you honestly think that USAIR would make it. It is blairingly obvious to most of us that they are on borrowed time. They are in bankrupcy every 5 or 6 yrs. and broke in the years between.

I really hate to say it but I don't think they will be with us for the long haul.

Just my 2 pennies.

Actually, US Airways has only been in bankruptcy once.

However, your main point is valid. I believe US Airways is doomed. The management has said on more than one occasion that they have 18 months to get the ship in order. Even though JB won't get their 190's until 2005, I don't think 18 months is enough time.

The problem is for USAir is that they are taking on airlines with more money and resources. Jetblue appears to have money coming out of it's a$$. Delta is putting a lot into Song. (Entertainment wise) Continental is squeezing them too. The one thing that USAir has that is doing well is the Carribean flying. But, Jetblue just stated that they might put those 100 seaters on new INTL routes---to Mexico or the Carribean. Song has already announced San Juan to MCO etc. Continental is huge in the Carribean from EWR. It will be a tough market for airlines with limited cash.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:
