Good input. We might get everyone on the same page one of these days. The FAA rep with whom we're working on our TSO told me "we don't care what you make... as long as you show us you can make it consistently..."

Your quote and his comment are a far cry from most folks' perceptions of what a TSO does.

No one has ever been able to identify what problem was being solved by the sudden insistence by some to mandate TSO'd headsets. TSO'd headsets have no better safety or performance record than non-TSO'd headsets. In fact, we've conducted two surveys which indicate the opposite is true.

When you have to tape the wires back together on your TSO'd earcups, the "leather" on the earpads wears through in no time, and the batteries are held in with a rubber band, you gotta wonder how anyone can consider that headset better than others that aren't TSO'd.
