Just saw a clip on the local news that two F/A 18's collided in mid-air just outside of Portland while doing training exercises. Does anyone know more about it that's all I heard?????.........
Sad day, indeed. By the report, it sounds as if at least one of them was a trainer model or one of the models with a RIO....and both ejected from that, but only one survived. Hopefully we'll hear some facts in the next day or two.
Lethal jet fuel and toxic chemicals possibly contaminate a source of drinking water and agricultural irrigation and you complain about the government taking steps to ensure public safety? How outrageous!
In all reality, it wasn't an « environmental impact study » ; the article speaks simply of general comments made by the emergency response manager for the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. The gentleman just commented on the impact of such an incident ; it's not like two bicycles tapped each other in the local park. We're talking about several tons of sensitive and dangerous components with which the public should avoid contact and report if found. It's not like there was a team of scientists running around the crashsite kicking the dead bodies.
Maybe ATL2CVG hasn't spent much time exposed to the oppressive and pink ways of the State of Oregon. Only in Oregon would a story about the tragic deaths of 2 servicemen/women have a comment by the ODEQ. Sad place....
