Small plane crash near Lantana Airport kills 2

LANTANA -- A small twin-engine plane narrowly missed a house as it crashed, killing at least two people in the aircraft on Thursday around noon.
No one on the ground was reported injured, said Don Delucia, captain of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
Cause of the crash was not immediately known.
The crash occurred on the 1800 block of Crest Drive in the Lake Osbourne Estates area just east of the Lantana Airport shortly before noon.
Damage to the house was reported to be minimal and some wires were knocked down. The plane apparently crashed on or near the house's driveway.
The plane caught on fire and was quickly extinguished. There was no fire at the house.
It was not immediately known if the plane was landing or taking off at the time of the crash.
The identity of the dead people in the plane were not immediately known.
No other details were immediately available.
