Checking my logbook, most of the flying I did out of Aub-Lew was in late 2003 and later. Correction on the aircraft: It was a 182RG, not a 172RG. I did fly the Piper Arrow several times before they got rid of it. That was a damn nice plane.

Did you do your Commercial SEL in the Arrow in 2002, checkride with Vic Loranger? If so I might have been the 20 year old upstart CFI...

As for Hung, ya had the balls to take a chance on said upstart, and launched my career, like so many other motivated Maine kids. Thank you.

I already had my commercial via the military but I did have to go back and get a single-engine line added to the license. I let my initial single-engine time go too long and needed to re-check. I did some warm ups with a young CFI but I don't remember the name.

Well, my friend, Captain Cardinal:

You started me thinking. And the more I thought, the prouder I got. Not for me, but for all of you guys and gals that made Twin Cities what it was.
Off the top of my head, everybody still alive and well, after either instructing or flying EVERY night in New England weather. Or both. You people were (are) the best!!!!!

You can change that silly check airman at Great Lakes to a silly FO that starts Airbus class at Frontier on Monday. We all owe alot to you, Grandest Poobah.

I didn't know about Steve, that's awesome! Young Jedi could fly the heck out of an airplane. I crossed paths with Dan H. in IAH during an ill-fated XJET interview.

Does Deryck have any airline gig on the side these days?

Well, funny you should ask!

1) Absolute congrats to you going on to the "bus!!!
Wonderful, wonderful!!!!
I am in just plain giddy about the fact that you made the big step. I am soooo proud, as I am sure you Mom and Dad are!!!! And you're second Mom, Lil is just plain estactic!!!
2) You ask about Deryk, and he called tonight. On the way to Dallas, seems someone at Expressjet saw the light and knew he was Cap-e-tan material.
Well, we knew it all along. So I guess I should try to edit my comments,,, twice!
ANOTHER Commander out there.
I had the utmost faith in you guys, as I always said, if you could not fly my daughter on the WORST night, then you could not fly for me.
You always did,, and you always will
I truly think of you all,,,,, always.
My sincere congratulations.

Hung

I just heard there is a new FBO at KLEW on the other side of the runway. I don't know anything about it except they have another Arrow for rent. I may have to go by and check it out.
