Try telling the truth for once.

Ha! Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black! Like you calling a hard working ALPA member in good standing a scab? Like you and your OLDER GIRLFRIEND spinning everything that comes out to fit your personal agenda to destroy ALPA and secure management positions for yourselves. Tell the truth: did you not get drunk at the National Air&Space museum at an ALPA event, pass out on the floor and get to be carried home when you were supposedly "fighting" for our last contract?

You continue to be an embarassment to yourself, to Lynn, and the ASA pilots at large. You are washed up, John. Time to admit that to yourself. You will never have any credibility except for with your handful of selfish, self serving followers who are just like you.

And by the way, as Bizjet said, you are too stupid to even understand that the 23.8M represents ALPA's opener! And you were in negotiations? I bet you pay sticker price for new cars too.

Ha Ha Ha LOL! Actually, Lynn slipped him a Roofie so she could have her way with him

Someone asked Tutt how many hours/month (on average) ASA's 700 pilots fly vs. how many they get paid for. Same question was asked about Skywest. Not surprisingly, the average number of flying hours for ASA pilots was well below guarantee. (Skywest was roughly 15% more and both had similar average pay hours)

A question regarding the benefit of more efficient scheduling was then posed. It was pointed out in no uncertain terms that this discrepancy created a 15-20% difference in crew costs; a number far greater than either the pay cuts or raises will ever approach.

Tutt's response? "We're working on acquiring the software tools... etc, etc." Follow-on questions included asking whether savings through better scheduling were included in the $3.whatever million he's seeking to save, or whether that money was earmarked as 'pilot pay savings'. No answer.

:rolleyes:Listen, if they WERE looking for ways to save money, they would fix the "MANY" in-efficiencies throughout ASA! And I am NOT talking about anyone on the flight line. The company is just trying to take advantage of "The Sky Is Falling" theory right along with every other airline! And YET.....We are making PROFITS!!! Yeah, THAT MAKES SENSE!! If you don't get raises when you are making money, they WHEN JOE? When we are LOSING MONEY!!

Deja vue

<<Are we losing money Joe? Are we even CLOSE to losing money? I didn't think so.>>

That is the same comment heard from the pilots at Northwest, Delta, USAirways, and United during their last contract negotiations in the late nineties. "The company is making money hand over fist - they can afford it!". - until you lose your contract.

The comment about ACA was exactly correct. Express Jet will also be profitable until they turn over their flying to another carrier. Mesa was profitable until Skywest booted them out of Denver and took over their flying for United. We will be too until we fail to hit the cost performance markers in our contract with Delta.

Lets exercise what we do best - risk assessment. If we are wrong and overreach - most of us (except for us very senior Captains) will likely find ourselves on the street in five years. If we under-reach, we can always come back and correct it - especially if we negotiate that ability in the contract. What is less risky?

It's less risky to stay in bed. It's less risky to marry a Doctor. It's less risky to find a good government job. It's less risky to work for minimum wage. Give in now, and they'll come back for more. At some point you have to ask the question, "Is the Hokie-Pokie really what it's all about?"

We should do what we do best, "Call a spade, a spade!"
They are Snake Oil Salesmen! Speaking of snakes, "If you know a snake is a snake, then you shouldn't get bitten!" They are not even consistent in their lies. The target keeps moving. If they lied to the government, they would lie to you! Take a deep breath and grow some gnads! They are making plenty of money and they can afford to pay you wages adjusted for inflation over the last 4 years as well as give you raises that are at least equal to cost of living. No one needs to even consider a pay cut!

If you want to write them a check each month, go for it! Don't give my money away in the process.

A quote from the Revolutionary War: "Make yourselves sheep, and surely you will be devoured by the wolves!"

Stand United, or die divided!

Do you REALLY believe that DAL gives a hoot what the ASA pilots make? Or the FA's, or rampers, or anything else? All DAL cares about is how much we charge them for that seat. Adn something that the comoany hasn't told you about having to be second lowest cost provider...SKW will have first right of refusal. IOW, if they are NOT the second lowest cost, they can match the second lowest bid and retain the flying.

Right now, ASA is the most profitable airline in the industry. Why are you willing to give up some of your money so BL and CT can put MORE in their pocket? If you are so willing to give away your hard earned money, how bout you give some to me??

That is so lame. Go back to Joe Merchant school.

First of all, comparing us to the dinosaur legacy carriers is (not to quote Charlie), apples to oranges. The biggest difference is that the business model of the lagacy carriers cannot make money. The regionals with "cost plus" cannot NOT make money.

Second, Mesa is making money, United notwithstanding. Hand over fist. Why? Cut rate labor and an endless suply of worker drones.

Third, the "cost performance markers" (and only a management geek would even use a term like that, which one are you?) are totally artificial. Only a complete idiot would have signed such a restrictive agreement while in negotiations with costs unknown. Atkin is no idiot. I promise you there are plenty of safety valves.

As for saying we should "under reach", if you're not management, you're being a plain ol' [starts with p, another word for a cat... stupid censor]. You get what you negotiate for, plain and simple. Management can afford it and will find a way to make it happen or THEY will be out of jobs. That's the way it works.

:rolleyes:Uh FIRE! See if you can understand this.....WE ARE MAKING MONEY!!! If we cannot get a raise NOW.....THEN WHEN? The only time that we should EXPECT a raise is NOW, NOT when you are losing money. This "fight another day" BS is plane ole' CRAP! We have to take it NOW! Mgmnt is trying to make us feel like we are just barely holding on, but guess what.....we are just fine and we WILL get the airplanes that Big D WANTS US to have! Don't Sweat the little stuff!!!
