You mean Tucson?

Nice city, got a buddy that still lives there. He got a pretty good deal on his house. Typical Arizona though, houses bunched up together. I don't know what the price is if you get farther out of town where you can get a couple of acres.

Feenix is great. I have lived here for over 14 years. I used to live in Twosown but I didn't like it as much. Housing prices are on the rise around the Southwest but I would expect Tucson to be a bit cheaper.

Tucson is a dump. If you are thinking of living in Arizona , Phoenix is an alright place but is growing too fast . Too many snowbirds in the winter and lots of transplants from the midwest wrecking it. As far as flying goes alot of good jobs. CFI jobs ATCA and Sabena are good paying. I believe ATCA ( Lufthansa) paid about 48 K the last I heard . Alot of Corporate work in Scottsdale. Just avoid flight schools like Westwind at DVT and Chandler Air Service at CHD.

I wish that I was in Tuc-son right now...

you got website for ATCA? (other than atcaz.com)

THanks

Mattpilot, I haven,t been able to find a web address for them but they are located at Goodyear airport (GYR) in west Phoenix. The last phone number I had for them is 623-932-1650 or 623-932-1600. The last I heard they were hiring and I think their minimums were 1000 TT CFII and MEI. They have great planes Bonanzas and Barons and had gotten new Archers and Seneca IVs. I,m not sure what the pay is now but it is much more than most places. I knew alot of people that worked there and loved it. If I find their address I will let you knpw.

thx gumbs

I don't suppose you know if they'd lower the minimums for someone who speaks german fluently ? ;)

Tucson...not quite Tiajuana dirty but closer to Nogales dirty.

And weather-wise it's just about the same temperature as Phoenix. Unless 106 compared to 116 makes a difference to you.

Mmmm....Tucson. It's nearest to heaven on earth for me. I grew up there, went to college there (Go Cats!) and think it is pristine!

But obviously, according to some of the previous posts, many think it is not so nice! Just differences, I guess, in what we think is nice! I pretty much think everywhere else is an absolute sh*thole compared to Tucson!

Great Place

Lived there 4.5 years and loved it. The part of town you live in can have a dramatic effect on your opinion of the place. Plenty to do, good housing available for nearly every price range, great weather year around. Cheers

Las Vegas = Armpit of civilization

Tucson = Navel of civilization

Downtown Tucson = Navel lint of civilization

Tijuana = Where we flush

Did you know any of the AMARC F-4 pilots there?

I still own a home there, in Vail (actually it's loser to Corona de Tucson) and have no plans to sell it. It took me over a year to find the right place. I have to agree with you on the closest thing to heaven on earth. That describes Southern Arizona and New Mexico for me. I am away from home for months at a time and just fall in love with the place all over again.

House prices there are on the rise and there are developers trying to turn it into a mini-Phoenix or Las Vegas. But water resources are more limited and so, in some places, growth will be limited and prices will rise faster there. I've lived in Gilbert and Chandler (PHX Metro) for many years. It has become too crowded now and I prefer my place out in the brush.

Of course, this is all just my own opinion.
