My company is going to pay for me to get 10 hours in any type of turbine aircraft. preferably least expensive and preferably with a TPE-331. Any ideas on how to go about doing this in the Southern California area? Anyone know someone interested in making some money? Avbug, please don't tell me to just write it in my logbook. I'm anti-PFT but I'm not paying for it.

Only company that I am aware of in California where you can buy that sort of time is Ameriflight (sp?) but I doubt that you would be able to purchase just ten hours.. I believe the time builder programs are for much much higher blocks and are used solely for the low timers who don't want to CFI or along those lines... Don't know for sure though.

If I were you I would scout out the local 135 companies in your area and find someone who may be willing to sell you the ten hours, you may even be able to pull this off for free... One of our more senior captains got this approved for his nephew who needed X amount of hours to be "insurable" down south so he came up here and spent about a month building some time up. I don't think he paid a single dime for any of it either and ended up getting the ground school and flight check also.

Gotta be a 135 company that will bite on it..

good luck

I'm not really sure why I need to get the hours since I've already flown the airplane that they want me to get this for. It's an experimental with a TPE-331.

There used to be a place out of VNY that offered Citation type ratings. If they are still in business that might be a good way to go depending on your experience.
