A good friend of mine was going through security in Charlotte today and they took the gel insoles from his shoes. He was in uniform and had gone through the same security check point multiple times in the last week, along with various check points throughout the country. Am I the only one who thinks that is a little over the edge?

Of course it's over the edge. Uniformed crew members are not subject to the new rules regarding liquids and gels.

I had my insoles taken last week in ICT, but ORD hadn't thought twice about them 2 days prior.

You musta been Gellin' like a felon....

I'm so sorry....

Does this apply to Net Jet pilots going home?

It should. A friend of mine flies fractional and he has not had any problems going through security while airlining to and from work. He said one of the TSA screeners was going to give him a hard time going through security but the supervisor told him to leave him alone because he was in a form-fitting uniform with proper ID.

Form fitting...sounds like the TSA person was coming on to him!

:p
