TSA to ASA good or bad move?

Its definatly time for me to make my exit from Trans States. In my pursuit of greener pastures, having an easy commute is high on my list. Atlanta and Charlotte couldn't be easier, but I don't want to leave one bad situation for another. ASA seems like a desent place going strictly off the pay scale, but we all know thats not everything. Any current Acey's out there that can give me some insight(work rules, min days off, length of time on reseve, mngt/pilot group relationship), it would be appreciated. I know that with contract negotiations going on things may be tense, but lets face it.... I'm at TSA....anythings better than this.

I made the move a while back. While ASA does have it's problems, it is still a sight better than TSA. If you have problems, the CP's actually take time to work with you to get it fixed. And if you walk around without your hat, you don't risk being suspended. Ground school by comparison to TSA was an absolute joke. You actuualy get 2 CPT sessions in the sim before you start your actual training.

Once again, I don't regret it all even if ASA does have it's issues. I'd do it all over again. Now I'll get flamed for that sure.

Go to ASA, or go fly banners, whatever, as long as you leave TSA you will be happier. I don't know how long you have been there, but the only guarantee is that life at TSA will get worse. The grass is greener.

Go fractional if you are worried about commuting. Commuting is a non-issue because you go positive space everywhere. There are plenty of fractionals with bases within driving distance of ATL and CLT.

Of course, at the fractionals you would have to contend with higher pay, more days off, and a quicker upgrade, but, hey, you have to sacrifice some things for a commute.
