Passed through security this morning and ahead of us was a young (11 or 12 year old i guess) girl who appeared to have some type of mental disability.

She was crying and confused because the nasty lady with a TSA badge took away her snow globe.

She was traveling with her parents and from what I over heard, apparently she was on vacation and bought the snow globe for a friend/family member back home. Her parents were trying to explain that they would try and find another gift and her friend back home would never know the difference.

It was like seeing a puppy get run over...just a sad site.

But rest assured, the skies are safer now that TSA, Take Sh*t Away, prevented a snow globe from boarding an aircraft.

how bout the time they took away a mini boomerang on a key chain because boomerangs are technically weapons but of course I can't wack someone with a didgeridoo cuz it's a musical instrument

Handicapped or not, that's just f'ng wrong to take away a kid's snowglobe. Tyrants Suck A$$

That truly is a pitiful illustration of their [TSA] lack of discretion and tact. Not to mention at times, outright stupidity. What a bunch of thoughtless morons. After all, we all know that airplanes are protected from explosives by a 1 quart ziploc bag.

Anyone ever heard of Nitroglycerin?

Fill a snow globe with it. Give it to a granny/baby or some other type of carrier. Get on the same flight and you now have a terrorist and the explosive on the plane.

I agree the TSA is staffed with tards but some of the basic policies could prevent alot of heartache.

I'm just glad Richard Reid was known the "Shoe Bomber" and not as the "Underwear Bomber"...

Um, and like you couldn't do that with just any 3 oz container bottle and stuff a bunch of those bottles in a one quart bag?

These TSA rules make no sense... leave the damn snow globe alone.

And you sir, are a paranoid freak. The TSA awaits your application.

Maybe we should look for terrorists instead of taking snow globes away from handicap children....... Some basic common sense could prevent alot of heartache also, but there is little common sense anymore......

When I was a mentally challenged youth (weren't we all at some point?) I was unhappy with the rate of which the snow would collect in the globe when turned upside down, so I decided to bang it on the hardwood floor. Hey, it works for shampoo, right? Mom was not impressed.

Oh yeah, TSA sucks!

And probably some guy holding the koran went by right after them unmolested because the poor little kid didn't have an anti-American pressure group like CAIR and the ACLU to make a fuss.

Terrifyingly, Still Argenbright.

Why even bother? Just put that stuff in a few 3 oz bottles, and pack those 3 oz bottles into one quart-size ziplock bag. According to TSA, that would be legal. But a snow globe, now you're just being a terrorist!

That snow globe will good on da rear deck as I Krooze da hood, sippin a Schlitz malt licka, smokin a Kool, and cashin in my check from da gubament!
