Hopefully the FFDO program will also go away. Both the TSA and the FFDO program are a joke.

Respectfully, on what do you base your opinion of the FFDO program?

As for the TSA, too bad we can't get a refund on all the money dumped down THAT particular rathole.

I would also like the FFDO program to go away... I don't like being muzzle swept by these wannabe cops.

'Bout time! Worthless scumbags that they are. Now they can stand around outside the terminal and smoke WITHOUT wearing a federally issued uniform.

By the way, I'd love to see the stats on how many terrorists they caught in relationship to the amount of sexual harassment lawsuits and stolen luggage indictments.

I think we might put the celebration on hold for a little bit. I gathered from that article that:

1. This has to go through the normal red tape crap and that could take forever.
2. The TSA could still be the "supervisor" of the private firms that come in essentially training other people to do the same thing in the same manner they used to do
3. If something should happen similar to 9/11 I think the TSA would be right back to where it was on 9/12 and as powerful as ever.

"muzzle swept"? I'd sure like to know what that means. I have never had anything but a positive experience flying with FFDO's. Had that program been in existence on 9/11 that day may have never happened, at least not in the form that it did. If you don't like guns say so, but leave the guys alone who VOLUNTEER to defend their flight decks.

You mean you can't figure out the meaning of those two words on your own? It means I don't like a loaded and cocked handgun pointed at me twice per leg as these macho men put it on their belt. Having a gun in the cockpit does nothing other than create additional safety issues. It's nothing more than viagra for you John Wayne types.

Keep in mind: More drunk FFDOs have tried to go thru security than FFDOs who have actually saved a flight with their weapon.

Oh, I get it . You were turned down by the program. Aren't you glad to know that complete idiots like yourself don't make it through screening!

No, I never even thought about the words "muzzle swept", nor have I EVER had an FFDO point his weapon in my direction while he was taking it out of the box. And you have no idea, nor does anyone else, of how many flights the FFDO program has saved. Just the knowledge that there MIGHT be an armed person to defend the cockpit may have saved thousands of lives so far. No one knows. If you don't like guns then move somewhere like New York where no one can carry them but the criminals. Then you can feel really safe.

Good riddence. Only a government could hire the same $6.50 workers that allowed this crap to happen and make them $45,000 bad attitude workers.

Actually, in Denver the private guards made $15.56/hour to start in 2002. When the TSA took over, you started at $12.86. Most of the TSA were new-hires, not the same private guards.

Also, do you remember the folks doing the work pre-9/11? 90% were not US citizens.

Lastly, another Bush thug family failure.
