Straight from the TSA:

Deadheaders and other people traveling on company business no longer have to go through security. Commuters still have to go through unless they have already been screened and have remained in a sterile area.

Source? You got a link with the update? That is most excellent news if it is correct!! Hope its true.

The TSA is no match for the power of ALPA.

Well, at least ALPA can exert some influence over somebody, even if it is the lowly TSA.

Does anyone know how to prove that you went through security in the begining of the day? Or do they just take you on your word?

They can't prove jack squat. Just another feel good directive from The Schutzstaffel of America.

CVG, we have to swipe our IDS no matter what when we go thru security.

True, but that doesn't mean squat when you are finishing a 4 day, didn't start the day there and don't live there. Was there, did that, eh...OK I'd rather still be in Cincitucky than the slums that have become metro Detroit....

Semi-related question: Since we're now subject to gate screening (with the above exceptions, I guess), I'm assuming we have to be traveling in uniform to take our deadly tubes of toothpaste with us. In other words, no more wearing the monkey suit to clear security and changing to civvies once inside?

It probably wasn't ALPA. More likely it was the ATA (management's union) crying about how the screening of deadheaders and CoBus passengers was disrupting their operations.

TSA= Modern ERA Gestapo

I'd disagree with that. The Gestapo was a ruthless and fairly effective group of thugs that struck fear into many people. The TSA, on the other hand, seems like Barney Fife with a Napoleon complex: they are semi-humorous, dimwitted and annoying all at once.

This is the quote of the month!
