The current GJ problem makes it painfully obvious that labor relations with the company and pilots is virtually nonexistent. The question that needs to be asked is, "How do the two sides reestablish a working relationship," rather than who is at fault.

Quite simply put, the TSA MEC and TSA MGMT are unable to work together due to personality conflicts. They hate each other. This is no way to further the goals of either side. Name calling, chest-pounding, and constant childish behavior on behalf of both the MEC and MGMT under-minds the professionalism of the TSA Pilot Group!

Here is where I make some people angry. In all honesty, the only solution to this problem is for the TSA MEC to step down. TSA MGMT is not going anywhere because they don't have to. One more time, TSA MGMT is not going anywhere because they don't have to. We can never change that. Both sides have to agree on a common goal and then negotiate their individual needs while keeping that goal in mind. The animosity of these two groups (MGMT/MEC) makes it impossible to have any goals . A solution needs to be found and when the goal is to screw each other at every chance a major change is needed.

So, are you a kool aid drinker or a go *ets pilot? I think it would be helpful for you to watch Sesame Street, and get a refresher course on "what's right". Just because management (go further to the "root" and let's say Hulas) is just as ever greedy, (that will not change) continues to bully the MEC and pilot group (hence the "death penalty" threat from management), doesn't mean you throw in the towel and just let it happen. Haven't you ever stood up for what's right no matter how long it goes on? Have some ethics and integrity and character! You do not just "allow" what is wrong to have a free reign, as that will only allow him to treat people even worse than he already does. If it were not for the union, TSA employees would be working for even less peanuts, less days off, less benefits, etc...... and I'm sorry, but that is not an option that most people would entertain as being appropriate. Alpa national definently has it's issues that I'm not personally thrilled with, but what's the alternative? Hulas is worse than Alpa, or anyone else I can think of at the moment. Allowing Hulas to do whatever he wants is a laughable idea.

I agree. Hulas has been doing this kind of stuff since he got into the airline business. Any Hulas run airline is, by nature, a place to build time and leave. While I applaud the TSA MEC's efforts they just have to realize they are looked at as a temporary pain in the @ss by Hulas and friends. Trying to make a career company out of any Hulas run airline will only lead to frustration. The solution is to for the TSA MEC to harrasss the $hit out of Hulas and do the best they can while they are there. After they get better jobs then turn the torch over to the new guys to do some more harrassment. Don't give up. Just have fun with it. Get your turban time up and move on to a better job. I haven't thrown in the towel, nor have a majorit of the pilots here. This fight certainly isn't over. Rather, I think an agreement without the pilots ratification is throwing in the towel. MGMT likes to bully the MEC, but they hate dealing with the group. Their outright disgust at the outcome of the last vote only proves this point.

If I offend you, please address the post instead of hijacking the thread with a tangent.

You know what I don't like? Quoting a whole post to comment on one thing in the post, when you are the next poster. I mean come on, his comments were right above you, we know what you were responding to.

Let's not get distracted here. This thread has the potential for some good old fashioned Hulas bashing. Let's get back on topic. Hulassux.

Boulovard, yes you do have a very valid point. The relationship is strained from dealings in the past between the current MEC/MGT. However, I don't see our MEC stepping down. The ones I know of are passionate about this situation and do not want to simply give up. Even if we got new MEC members, I would still give it a slim to none chance of a newly forged, trusting relationship between MGT and ANY MEC committee you could elect.

Hey, they're doing allright by me. They (the tsa mec pres and vice) flew on one of my flights a few months ago and I looked up their info... Alpo paid over $2 Grand for them to fly a round trip. That means more dollars to my airline and more job stability for me. Keep up the good work numbnuts.

Ohh... btw... Alpo, FU
