Change in Security Checkpoint Procedures Earlier today we learned that the TSA will begin enforcement of a new security procedure starting Monday, July 10 that will impact all crewmembers. The new procedure requires crewmembers to possess a boarding pass or gate authorization in order to pass through the security checkpoint at airports that the crewmembers’ airline does not serve. If a crewmember wants to jumpseat or pass travel from an airport not served by the airline the crewmember will need to proceed to the ticket counter of the airline he or she will be traveling on to get a boarding pass or gate authorization.
Starting on Monday, July 10, please allow ample time to facilitate check-in at the ticket counter before proceeding to the gate at stations you do not serve. As with any new security procedure, initial enforcement may be confusing and inconsistent. Please be patient and remain professional as we work through this transition period.
