Listening to G. Gordon Liddy this morning, heard him relate the following story about a TSA incident yesterday at BNA:
Liddy was returning from a weekend appearance in Nashville where he had been given a gift ... antique Indian arrowheads displayed in a locked glass case. At check-in (on Southwest) Liddy showed the display case to the agent and said he'd like to carry it on, since it was fragile. The SWA agent said sure, no problem. Liddy hits the checkpoint, and the TSA says he can't carry them on ... they're "pointy things" and "a weapon". He points out that without shafts, feathers, or a bow, they are not a weapon, and he couldn't attack anybody with them even if he wanted to. The TSA didn't care, told him he couldn't carry them on. Fortunately, the SWA folks arranged for the shipment of his gift back home.
This is getting out of hand!
