Anyone up to date with TSA planes this next few months for hiring, hours? I am out of the regional loop! Trying to get back in the mix. Any other regionals based out of St Louis?

PM me for St Louis Info, my Trans States Guage is a little old but I know a few folk there.

P.S. How hot ? My ex-Wife didn't think I deserved her either LOL

Same here! Women, argh.

We are suppose to be hiring 10-15 a month or so pretty much every month just for attrition. We have been losing about that many a month for a while now for various reasons.

As for Stank Louis, a lot of people don't like it. It is kinda dirty compared to other big cities. I think it's whatever you make of it. There is some cool stuff to do in the Lou. Besides, if your wife is that hot, aren't you pretty much just gonna be stayin' in, havin pizzas delivered and polishin' your "tools" most of the time!!! Good luck, are ya sure you wanna work here?

it's all good

TSA is OK. Just not sure about this whole GOJets thing and contract negotiations coming up soon. Reference Mesa/Freedom or Chautauqua/Republic. I like it just fine and if you already live in the Lou it would be great. If you have to move anyway, maybe try Chau. or Expressjet. I've heard they have better contracts and better management/pilot relations. I don't know. It's not that bad here. Plenty of old, ugly flight attendants so you won't be tempted on the road!!!!

St. Louis is the "arm pit" of the Midwest!

Pilots are a great group; company is crap!

Contract negotiations aren't coming up anytime soon.

GoJets is the big worry,.................nobody knows anything.

Not all newhires based in STL; We also have a RIC domicile.

If you have the time, you could possibly be it the left seat of the J41 in 1.5 yrs.

Management and Crew Scheduling use every loop hole and gray area language in our contract to make life miserable.

Hope that helps you make up your mind, and if you are following a woman around the country with that little of self esteem, then you are doomed and don't belong in this industry.

Hi!

I can GUARANTEE that his wife is HOT!

JUST KIDDING!!!!!

I liked TSA. My friend who's there says Chautauqua is definitely better. I would try there first.

TSA is a typical regional, so the job is what you make it. It's better than a lot of flying jobs, but it's worse than high-end regionals or better.

The pilot group was great when I was there.

Good luck!

PS-I think MY wife is hot, which is a good thing.

PPS-I met a lot of hot and young (those two are often confused!) flight attendents at TSA, and heard some great stories.

Yeah go to CHQ if you want to wait a thousand years to upgrade.

I think all the Regionals suck. Everyone has the same complaints wherever they are. The TSA guys think CHQ stinks and vice versa. What can you do?

The flying in STL is boring as all heck, but at least you know what to expect I guess. The worst thing about STL is dealing with AMR. When TWA was there it was fun. Not any more.

All the above is pretty much correct. I would add that the "management" handbook is "Winning Through Fear and Intimidation". Starts at executive management and percolates down. Terrible culture. Very bad pilot relations. Yes, you could do worse, but that is a poor way to make decisions. You could do much better. An employer that views employees as valuable assets.

As far as St. Louis, home is where you make it. I'm sure it has a very low rank in Places Rated Almanac (plus just plain awful and rude drivers), but doable for a short while, better as a commuter.

Hi!

Especially if you're a commuter, you can get a crashpad near the light rail system. It runs from STL-downtown, and hits a lot of good spots. If you do this, you won't need the expense of a car in STL. The train goes right into a terminal at STL.

It was very nice studying during training on the train, instead of having to drive in traffic, and it's very quick and easy to get between downtown and STL via the train.

PS-With gas prices at $2.50-$3+ in the next couple of years, the train makes even more sense.

Just an FYI - the past 2 classes have ALL been assigned to STL

3 on the J41, no ATR, and 17 on the ERJ...

Whatever you choose as long as you dont chose Pinchnickle you will be Ok. I believe Pinnacle is about the worst, worst than TSA for sure.

And what exactly do you mean by that?!?!? Pizza's great..........but I dont get the rest of that statement!!!!!
(How's life?)

The city of St. Louis is not the best place to live, but there are plenty of places w/in 25-35 mins that are a great place to live and raise a family. Try across the river in Illinois(i.e.-OFallon, Fairview Heights, Swansea). Lots of things to do w/in the St. Louis area for both families and the adults. LOTS of thing to do if you are into the drinking and partying. Great place to see a baseball game. I have several friends at TSA and its not the best, but its also not the worst. Pilot/Management relations are not the best, but hey welcome to the airlines. You may also try Chautaqua or even ExpressJet. XJET is not based out of the Lou but any of their domiciles would be easily commutable. Hope this helps.

I don't know if you'd really want to have pizza delivered in STL since that city has the WORST pizza known to man. Seriously, Dominoes has the best pizza in that town. Oh, and whoever said that you could upgrade in 1.5 yrs in the J41 needs to change their bong water.

True. The pizza part anyway. St. Louis has the worst pizza I have ever had. There are some places on the hill that will make you a decent pie, but overall the pies are horrible. Still, I like St. Louis. If you are a pilot you can get your pizza in boston and ny and not have to live there, that is the best thing about this profession.

So is RIC filled to capacity, or what?

Re: Pizza

Noone will deliver to my crashpad near the airport. I'll have to go out sometime.
