From the post it was stated that there was one last revenue pax as they were closing the door, so a legitimate jumpseater theory is out. I agree that if there was then they would be entitled first.

Also, I seriously doubt SWA comped back the ticket for the pilot who sat in the jumpseat. Even if they did and that ticket could be reused over the next 12 months it's still not a loss of revenue as odds are the ticket A. won't be used (80% of comp tickets are not redeemed) and B. SWA still pushed a flight with 100% sold. the redemption flight is likely to be on a flight with an empty seat anyway.
