first of all, interview with everyone who will look at you, see who offers to hire you, and THEN look at the airlines in question with a magnifying glass. that way, you'll have your own observations to help formulate your opinions. I turned down the first offer I received based on my treatment at the interview.

also, keep in mind that the "hot" airlines now likely won't be a few years down the line. In 2002, when I was interviewing, ASA, ACA and CMR were the places to be. Now, not so much.

And always remember, no matter what you decide, at some point in your career your will realize that your choice was horribly, horribly wrong.

Yeah, having already been to an interview I can certainly see how obvious the culture is at places. Finding a company/crews I fit in well with would be nice. Good advice. Thanks.

And for the bold quote, all I can say is life is not supposed to be easy. Accepting that is important IMHO. I'm a better husband/soon to be father for it. I just need a real job regardless of whether or not I already realize the horrible mistakes I've made.....choosing aviation being one I guess. But I do love it as long as I'm working.

I despise it more than ever when I'm grounded far home due to marginal weather. My jobs are strictly VFR. (Scenic tours, Banner towing, Instructing w/o the CFII) I've mastered stick and rudder tailwheel flying skills in all the fabric airplanes etc. that I've always wanted to fly. I'm ready to move on. I know it will wear off quickly but I'll be excited just being able to fly and have a solid job in the IMC world.

At this point, I think I'm looking as forward to some real, standardized training as I am the "real job" because I know what skills I need now. I'm sick of staying instrument current on my own buck. Blah, blah, blah...I could go on for ever.

Mcjohn and Gooseegg,
A: You have more posts than total time in your profile!!!!!!!!
Sorry guys, I just couldnt help myself...its been a long, boring day

Yeah, long boring day for me too yesterday, hence all the posts. And my total time is 98% of my number of posts, so I'm not doing too bad. Now that I got rid of this stupid head cold, I should be flying a bunch, so that'll be one less thing for you to gripe about. :)
